I was at the Chandler Library circulating petitions to legalize
marijuana and my civil rights were violated by some library employees
who didn't seem to like me circulating the petitions that could lead to
the legalization of marijuana in Arizona.
It happened on Monday, June 23, 2013 sometime between noon and 2:54 pm. I only had 3 signatures remaining on the petitions before I was all done. I suspect that some angry cop or wanna be cop was angry that I was circulating petitions to legalize marijuana in front of the Chandler Library and they complained to the library. The library employees should have told them tough luck, I have the same 1st Amendment right to talk about legalizing marijuana as they have to brag about how they are saving the world by throwing people that commit the victimless crime of smoking marijuana into prison. But instead two library employees came out of the library to shake me down. One of the employees was a woman, the other employee was a man. The woman employee told me that I had to stand behind a wall if I wanted to circulate my petitions. That wasn't a big deal because I was already standing behind the wall. But it was a big deal to me because there are no signs whatsoever in front of the library ordering people who circulate petitions to stand behind the wall. I suspect the woman made up the law to give me a hard time. The male library employee claimed he wanted to sign my petitions at first. I suspect that was a lame excuse for him to read the petition. Then when he got the petition he claimed he MIGHT sign it. Then after reading it he didn't sign it. I need to get 1) video from camera out side library 2) video of camera inside library with the 2 library employees walking out to shake me down 3) names of library employees that shook me down 4) all emails and messages and phone calls about the incident |
